Smoked Out Red Brick Pictorial

Mac's "Red Brick" is one of my staple colors, instantly adding warmth to any look. I usually use it in my crease, but decided to do something different and apply it on the lid. Red Brick is a reddish-orange matte color, easy to work with, and highly pigmented. Best of all, I love that it is buildable, so you can make it as intense and bright as you want, or something light and neutral. Scroll down to see the products used and pictorial!

Step 1: Apply Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion all over the lid and brow bone.Take a blending brush, I use Makeup Addiction's The Blender and apply Mac's "Early Bird" on the crease, sweeping the color back and forth.

Step 2: Take NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk" and place it all over the lid.

Step 3: Apply Mac's "Brun" on the outer corner with a Mac 217 brush, blending it up to the middle.

Step 4: Pack on Urban Decay's "Hot Pants" on the inner lid. Followed by Mac's Extra Dimension "Stylishly Merry" on the rest of the lid. I used Makeup Addiction's The Shader to pack on e/s.

Step 5: I did several things in this step: 1) Cleaned underneath the eye with Mac Select Cover-up Concealer 2) Added more "Stylishly Merry" on the lid, to make it appear more vibrant 3) Further darkened the outer corner with Mac's Brun and 217 brush 4) Diffused the color on the crease with Sigma E40 brush to make it more blended (I always use this brush to further diffuse and blend colors on the crease) 5) Applied Urban Decay's "ABC Gum" on the brow bone

Step 6: Line the lower lash line and waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil "Delinquent"(Love this eyeliner! Best purple eyeliner ever!)

Step 7: Apply eyeliner. I use Maybelline's Eyestudio Gel liner "Black" and Makeup Addiction's The Liner brush.

Review: Makeup Addiction "Special Eyes" Kit

Hello Beauties!

So excited to write my very first post! I was asked to review Makeup Addiction's "Special Eyes" Kit. I have used these brushes for over a week now...and I can honestly say I am in love! This is a must have for your brush collection and this is great especially if you are just starting out.

Makeup Addiction is based off the UK. Their brushes are vegan friendly, made with synthetic taklon fibers. They are eco friendly as well, with the handle of the brushes composed of bamboo. I found all 6 brushes to have multiple purposes and the blend-ability impressive. The softness of the bristles are remarkable! They all felt so gentle and comfortable on the eye lid. This kit sells for $39 shipped to the US. I think that is a deal for 6 great, quality brushes. I will discuss each brush in greater detail below.

You can purchase at: www.hairandmakeupaddiction.co.uk

The Queen: This is my favorite brush out of the entire kit. I actually do not have a brush like this in my collection. I absolutely love it for blending concealer underneath the eyes! I also love that bristles are so gentle. You want to be careful with that area because the skin is a lot more sensitive. This can also be used for contouring the nose and cheek bones, applying concealer around the nose and covering up blemishes

The Blender: Most of the names of the brushes are pretty explanatory...super easy right?! The Blender is best for applying color to the crease. I thought it did an excellent job diffusing the color. You can also use this to contour the nose, if you have a smaller nose and The Queen was too large.

The Shader: The Shader is best used for packing eyeshadow onto the lid. The size of the bristles fit perfectly on the entire lid. This can be used to apply eyeprimer all over the lid and browbone, if you do not like to use your fingers.

The Highlighter: I like to use this brush for highlighting the brow bone and inner tear duct. This can also be used to apply a darker eye shadow color to the outer corner, achieving a cat-eye look.

The Detailer: This is great for smudging eyeshadow on the lower lash line and adding color to the inner tear duct. I love The Detailer than all my other pencil brushes I have from Mac and Sigma because of the softness. Again, you want to be careful with the under eye area and I found this brush so comfortable and delicate. It can be used to create a cut crease and creating more definition on the outer v.

The Liner: This can be used to apply gel eyeliner. It creates an easy and even line along the lash line. You can also use the brush to fill in the eyebrow.
